etrojacquard

Etro was founded in Milan in 1968 by Gerolamo “Gimmo” Etro as a textile company. In 1981, Gerolamo Etro introduced the Paisley pattern, which developed into the house’s signature design and most recognizable symbol. Its early identity drew on fabrics, refined prints, an archive inspired by antique shawls, and artistic and cultural references gathered through travel and different traditions. Today, Etro is a Milanese lifestyle house spanning fashion, accessories, home, and fragrance, with an emphasis on artistic references, exploration, and cultural collecting. The house launched its first perfume in 1989, and its fragrance identity brings together art, culture, travel memories, woody accents, floral bouquets, spices, citrus, and aromatic herbs. Paisley is directly tied to the house’s history and motif, while Rajasthan, launched in 2013, linked its bottle and inspiration to the jeweled cities and landscapes of the Indian state. On February 20, 2024, Coty announced a long-term agreement covering Etro’s perfumes and home-scent collections beyond 2040. Following a December 2025 transaction, the Etro family exited the brand and L Catterton remained its majority shareholder.
