Ex'cla-ma'tion
Ex'cla-ma'tion is a Coty fragrance line whose first signature black-and-white fragrance launched in 1988. Created by perfumer Sophia Grojsman, the original is a floral-fruity scent, and its bottle was shaped like an exclamation mark. Launched in the United States in 1988 and the United Kingdom in 1990, it was voted Best New Fragrance in the United States in 1988 and led the mass-market best-sellers list in 1989. By the 1990s, Exclamation was part of Coty’s fragrance assortment; Coty had been acquired by Pfizer in 1963 before Pfizer sold it to Joh. A. Benckiser GmbH in 1992. Coty was founded in Paris by François Coty in 1904. The range continues around the original fragrance, with later variety within the line.
