Extra Virgo
Extra Virgo is a Florentine fragrance house founded by Alex Postiglione, also identified as Prince Alex Herbert Postiglione of Limbin, who is its designer and creative director. Born in Florence and trained in art history there, Postiglione creates the perfumes at the family’s Castello di Montecucchi estate. His approach connects perfume with plants, anthropology, spirituality, and a primordial relationship with nature, expressed through the term “Botanical Couture”; the name Extra Virgo also evokes extra-virgin purity, Postiglione’s Virgo sign, and the life-giving figure of Mother Nature. By November 2019, the brand had been presented through Monte Kush, a cannabis-based perfume exploration. Its first named fragrance family, Forbidden Botanicals, comprises five small-batch perfumes built around botanicals including cannabis, mushrooms, tobacco, cocoa, and coffee, hand-blended at Montecucchi, and forms Extra Virgo’s signature collection. In 2024, Extra Virgo collaborated with Carnale magazine on Spirito Santo, a limited-edition extrait and ritual incense. At Pitti Fragranze 2025, it presented Les Fleurs du Mal, a five-fragrance collection created by Postiglione with perfumer Michele Marin.
