Eyeko

Eyeko was founded in 1999 by Max and Nina Leykind as a multi-category makeup brand. It later evolved into a specialist eye-cosmetics company, and in 2011 the founders refreshed it as a single-focus brand centered on eyes, particularly mascara. Its identity combines British heritage with Korean beauty expertise, with mascaras, liquid liners and brow products at its core. Alexa Chung shaped the brand’s creative presentation as a creative consultant and face, influencing the line and its association with a signature cat-eye look. Eyeko also developed a bespoke mascara service at Sephora Champs Élysées in Paris, matching customized brush and formula combinations to individual lashes. On 3 May 2018, The Hut Group, now THG, acquired Eyeko, moving the founder-created brand into THG’s beauty portfolio.
