Eyüp Sabri Tuncer
Eyüp Sabri Tuncer traces its origins to a retail shop opened by its founder in Ankara in 1923, the year the company uses as its founding date. After learning the craft from an essence seller during a trip to Istanbul, the founder began producing and selling cologne in 1933. Cologne became the business’s defining activity during the 1930s, with early production linked to Ankara’s Çankaya Mansion and service to guests of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The family business was incorporated in 1961, and in 1967 Sabahattin Tuncer developed its own lemon-cologne formula from raw materials. That lemon cologne is the brand’s clearest defining fragrance example, associated with Turkish welcome and successive generations. During the 1990s and 2000s, the brand added broader personal-care categories and sub-brands including EST 1923 and Perfume Jewels while retaining classical products. Family-owned across four generations, Eyüp Sabri Tuncer marked its centenary in 2023 with a history book, exhibition, and Yüzyıllık Buluşma event; a centenary-era rebranding also revived references to its 1940s visual identity.
