Faces Canada’s history begins with Faces, founded in Toronto in 1974 by Quebec entrepreneurs Pierre LeBlanc and Lise Giguère. The founders pursued quality beauty products at competitive prices, offering a broad range of colours while reconsidering conventional production and selling methods. The brand’s products are intended for varied ethnicities, skin types, tones, complexions, and textures, and it identifies as cruelty-free and hypoallergenic. Faces entered the Indian market in 2009, with formulations positioned around international cosmetic technology and Indian skin tones. In 2007, Faces was acquired by Indivision India Partners, managed by Everstone Capital. On December 16, 2021, Sequoia Capital completed the sale of Faces Canada’s India business to Purplle.com. The current India-facing operation is owned and operated by Manash Ecommerce Pvt Ltd.
