Fragrance house
FARALA
Farala was created by Madrid-based Perfumería Gal and launched in the mid-1980s, with its defining television campaign appearing in 1985. The fragrance became associated with the cultural image of the newly independent Spanish working woman and with memories of Spain’s post-Franco social change. It was also one of Perfumería Gal’s best-selling products when created. In 2001, Antonio Puig S.A. acquired GAL. A July 2020 sector report said De Ruy had acquired several brands from Puig, and De Ruy’s corporate profile lists Farala among the brands it commercializes. Farala’s enduring fragrance legacy rests on its original women’s perfume and the 1985 campaign, whose jingle and working-woman character made it a widely remembered cultural reference beyond its sales performance.
