Farmacia SS. Annunziata 1561
Farmacia SS. Annunziata 1561 traces its history to Florence in 1561, when Domenico Brunetti opened an apothecary shop near the Cathedral in a building owned by the nuns of San Niccolò. The establishment took the SS. Annunziata name in 1876, after an Annunciation insignia was installed above the entrance, and adopted the definitive name “Farmacia della SS. Annunziata” in 1935. Carlo Azzerlini and Laura Pizzati became its owners in 1970, beginning the Azzerlini family phase. Their expansion beyond pharmacy included a first cosmetics line in 1985; in 1991, the laboratory moved to KER S.r.l., and the “Farmacia SS. Annunziata dal 1561 Firenze Italy” brand was introduced. Between 2004 and 2008, a perfume line emerged alongside the cosmetics business. The brand’s identity combines Florentine apothecary roots with niche perfumery and cosmetics, historical aromas, and Italian craftsmanship. In 2019, Elena Azzerlini became owner and commercial director of KER S.r.l.; a new identity presented under her direction on 12 February 2021 modernized the visual language while retaining its Florentine historical basis. The fragrance 450, created for the 450th anniversary, places iris at its center as a tribute to Florence. In 2025, Al Rihla became the brand’s first limited-edition Extrait de Parfum.
