Farmacia SS. Annunziata dal 1561 traces its origin to 1561, when Domenico Brunetti opened an apothecary shop near Florence’s Cathedral on property owned by the nuns of San Niccolò. The establishment adopted the name Farmacia “all’insegna della SS. Annunziata” in 1876 after a ceramic Annunciation emblem was placed above its entrance, and became Farmacia della SS. Annunziata in 1935. Carlo Azzerlini and Laura Pizzati became its owners in 1970, and in 1985 they introduced modern production equipment and created a cosmetics line of about 150 items. In 1991, the laboratory moved to KER s.r.l., alongside the introduction of the identity Farmacia SS. Annunziata dal 1561 Firenze Italy. Between 2004 and 2008, the company developed its perfume line and repositioned Via dei Servi 80 as its historic headquarters after medicinal-pharmacy sales moved elsewhere in Florence. Its perfumes draw on stories inspired by Florence, while its home fragrances reference the city’s seven Major Arts. In 2021, the brand presented a new identity and a 460th-anniversary personal-fragrance collection including Anniversary. In 2025 it introduced Al Rihla, its first limited-edition Extrait de Parfum, and in 2026 announced Street Art Fragrances, a four-fragrance collaboration between four artists and four perfumers.
