Fascent
Founded in France in 2023 by Fanny Fortin Descamps and Edwina Réthoré, Fascent approaches perfumery as a form of personal expression. Its identity was shaped in response to a traditional perfume culture that Fortin Descamps viewed as exclusive, stereotyped, opaque, and fixed, while the name combines “facets” and “scent” to evoke the multiple sides of people and perfumes. Fascent’s fragrances can be worn alone or layered, with combinations adapted to mood, personality, life circumstances, and seasons. Its approach also brings together inclusive, genderless use, emotional or aromachological intentions, sustainability, and formula transparency. Fortin Descamps develops fragrance concepts through moodboards and collaborates with perfumers at CPL Aromas and Firmenich, distinguishing her creative direction from the perfumers’ role in creating the formulas. In the United States, Crème Brûlante and Sel à Vie have been identified as Fascent bestsellers.
