Féret Parfumeur

Féret Parfumeur traces its history to 1865, when the Féret family began making and distributing cosmetics; in 1878, Lucien and Roger Féret succeeded their father and established the Féret Frères era. The early business manufactured products including Bloc Hyalin and Hyalomiel while also distributing French and international cosmetic brands. Bloc Hyalin won three medals at the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition and has been sold since 1878. By the 1930s, the company employed more than 700 people and operated outlets overseas. After Lucien Féret’s death in the 1970s, it lost distribution contracts with major brands but continued producing and distributing its own products. Mme Féret and her husband, Etienne Vannier, ran the company from 1975 until 2011. In 2012, founder’s descendant Alexis Cabanne relaunched the brand as the sixth generation to manage it. Based in Bourg-Charente, France, Féret Parfumeur is family-run and rooted in French-made products, historical packaging, and formulas based largely on honey and essential oils. Its fragrance line includes Cabanne’s L’Eau de Madame, inspired by the Féret gardens, and L’Eau de Monsieur, inspired by Cognac aging cellars.
