Filippo Sorcinelli
Filippo Sorcinelli’s work began with LAVS, an atelier he founded in 2001 to design and make sacred vestments, liturgical furnishings, and accessories. LAVS produced vestments for Pope Benedict XVI and for Pope Francis’s inaugural Mass in 2013. The fragrance business grew from the practice of scenting boxes containing sacred vestments and developed into the UNUM collection. The brand presents itself as a lifestyle project spanning art, events, fashion, and design, with a fragrance identity shaped by Gothic art, music, photography, fog, spirituality, and sacred imagery. Sorcinelli treats perfume as one medium among photography, music, painting, and sartorial art, with his perfumer translating his ideas into scent. LAVS is the clearest fragrance signature: it was the first UNUM fragrance and is described as the collection’s best seller, linking the scent to the sacred-vestment atelier.
