Fine Fragrance Collection

Fine Fragrance Collection began in South Africa in 2014, when entrepreneur friends Simon and Grant launched a website selling generic perfumes. Simon Maritz is identified as its founder. The brand offers generic versions of designer fragrances rather than original designer-brand products and is not affiliated with the referenced brand owners. Its mission is to make generic designer perfume broadly accessible through an agent program, with an ambition to extend that model globally by the end of 2030. During the COVID-19 period, after lockdown disrupted shopping-centre sales, the company developed an agent-based route to market as part of that accessibility strategy. In 2018, it released a documentary about the perfume industry, making criticism of industry practices and transparency part of its public positioning.
