Flair

Founded in September 2012, Flair is an independent perfume-creation studio established by perfumers Amélie Bourgeois and Anne-Sophie Behaghel, with Martine Denisot joining the project. Bourgeois and Behaghel met at Cinquième Sens, where they trained in olfaction and composition; Behaghel later gained experience at Firmenich and Symrise before the studio launched. Flair works through client collaborations, beginning with Jovoy and Frapin and later creating fragrances for Room 1015, Liquides Imaginaires, Les Eaux Primordiales, and BDK Parfums; by 2024, the studio reported work with 56 brands. Its creative identity brings together Bourgeois’s interest in harmony, natural textures, and nuance with Behaghel’s focus on dissonance, contrast, experimentation, and perfume that is more creative than decorative. The studio’s documented work for BDK Parfums includes Rouge Smoking, Sel d’Argent, and French Bouquet. In 2021, Flair also created the Flair Prize for olfactory art, which supported three artists across its first three editions covering 2022–2026.
