Flamingo Estate

Flamingo Estate launched in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, beginning with produce boxes sold from a Los Angeles parking lot. Richard Christiansen became connected to the Los Angeles property through beekeeping, bought it after agreeing to restore its house and garden, and later made the estate the foundation of the brand. Christiansen redirected his creative experience from Chandelier Creative into a business built around produce, gardens, and nature-derived rituals, and Flamingo Estate evolved from pandemic-era produce delivery into garden-connected personal-care and home products such as soaps and candles while retaining ties to growers and farms. Its public identity centers on sensory pleasure, the garden, and traceable sourcing from farmers and growers, with everyday essentials made from and for the garden. The Heirloom Tomato Candle marked a major commercial turning point after Oprah’s endorsement; reported sales rose from 15 per day to 2,500 per hour, and MECCA describes the Roma Heirloom Tomato candle as a bestseller. Flamingo Estate also developed Expansion, an exclusive scent with JW Marriott built around holy basil, white lotus, and rosemary.
