Flora
Flora’s documented history reaches back to Tallinn Cosmetic Laboratory in Estonia, established in 1921, where the Flora name was used. In the 1940s, Estonian chemical enterprises were nationalized and reorganized under the Flora chemical combine, whose activities included perfumery as well as household chemicals, paints, adhesives, and related goods. After Estonia restored independence, the state-owned RAS Flora was privatized during the 1990s and divided into several separate joint-stock companies. Estonia’s commercial register later linked the Flora corporate name to Mayeri Industries AS, whose former names included AS Flora and Aktsiaselts Tartu Flora. Flora’s documented fragrance record is concentrated in the Soviet-era period, with editions recorded from 1959 through 1971 and collaborations credited to several perfumers, including Vera Lakotkina, Marina Somova, Elena Kaboshina, Bronislava Schwarzman, Bella Goutzeit, and Victoria Merkulova.
