Ford Mustang
Ford Mustang is Ford Motor Company’s automotive nameplate, introduced publicly at the New York World’s Fair on April 17, 1964, after development began in 1961. Its public identity was built around sportiness, accessibility, customization, fun and freedom. More than 420,000 Mustangs were sold in the first calendar year, and the one-millionth Mustang was produced in 1966. In 2024, Ford marked Mustang’s 60th anniversary and promoted its seventh-generation era as a continuously produced American performance nameplate associated with fun, freedom, performance and a touch of rebellion. Fragrance is a licensed extension of the automotive nameplate: Palm Beach Beauté produces collections under licensed properties including Ford Mustang, using Ford trademark and trade dress under license. A U.S. Mustang fragrance launch was planned for 2007 through a partnership involving Ford and Estée Lauder’s Aramis brand, following a 2006 exclusive license covering Mustang cologne spray and Mustang Blue cologne spray in North and Latin America.
