FORVR MOOD was founded by Nigerian-American beauty creator, makeup artist, and U.S. Army veteran Jackie Aina, with Denis Asamoah as co-founder. Its concept began in 2018, when Aina set out to create candles, and the project was revived with Asamoah before launching publicly in August 2020. The brand began as a self-care lifestyle label centered on candles, framing fragrance as a means of mood, self-prioritization, and self-expression. Its founding motivation was shaped by Aina’s longstanding relationship with scent, including her experience with hyperhidrosis and her wish for fragrance products that felt visually considered and more representative of Black women. In April 2024, FORVR MOOD expanded from home fragrance into fine fragrance after several years of development with perfumers, organizing scents around emotional personas and moods. I Am Her is identified as a best-seller. In August 2026, the brand introduced Not Your Type alongside a four-episode workplace mockumentary campaign featuring Jackie as an exaggerated version of herself. FORVR MOOD is currently operated by FORVRMOOD LLC, with Jackie and Denis Asamoah identified as its co-founders.
