Fossil
Founded in 1984 by Tom Kartsotis, Fossil introduced its first Fossil-branded watch the following year. The company went public in June 1993, and during the 1990s and 2000s it expanded beyond watches into leather goods, belts, sunglasses, handbags, jewelry, and other accessories. Its design identity combines American mid-century and vintage references with modern design, expressed through recurring elements such as the Fossil Crest, signature knurling, and the Heritage D-Link. As of Fossil Group’s fiscal 2025 reporting, Fossil remained an owned brand within the group’s proprietary-brand portfolio. In 2025, the group outlined a renewed emphasis on traditional watches alongside a new Fossil brand platform and a brand-led, consumer-focused operating model. Fossil entered perfumery in 2014 with Fossil 1954 for Women and Fossil 1954 for Men, its first fragrances and a paired launch reflecting the brand’s design values.
