Fragrance house
Fulton & Roark
Fulton & Roark was founded in 2012 by Kevin Keller and Allen Shafer in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The pair began the company while in business school, and Keller developed it as a nights-and-weekends project before making it his full-time job in 2016 through bootstrapping. The brand introduced its first fragrance products in 2013 as solid, wax-based fragrances in portable, refillable containers, initially alongside a focus on men’s grooming; in 2018, it removed references to men from its marketing and moved toward a gender-neutral public identity. Its creative approach emphasizes new ingredients, formulation methods, and formats rather than Parisian fragrance conventions, with each scent inspired by a different location in the United States. After roughly a decade focused on solid fragrances, Fulton & Roark introduced Extrait de Parfum sprays. Calle Ocho, associated with Little Havana and carrying a spicy, tobacco-and-sandalwood profile, is identified as the brand’s best-selling scent.
