Fragrance house
Fzotic
Fzotic was founded by Bruno Fazzolari in 2012 as a small, independent fragrance studio. Before establishing the business, Fazzolari was a painter and art professor who blended scents in his painting studio and exhibited them alongside his paintings. He created his first fragrance for a painting installation in 2010, then began selling bottles through his artist website in 2013 as interest grew. In 2014, Lampblack received a four-star rating from Luca Turin, coinciding with growing sales and Fazzolari’s departure from academia. He rebranded the business as FZOTIC in 2017 as the project expanded beyond art perfumes toward a broader vision of art in daily life. The house connects perfumery with visual art, using scent to explore color, texture, and mood; Fazzolari remains its founder and perfumer, creating every fragrance in his studio. Lampblack, made for an ink-painting exhibition and evocative of the dark pigment used in India ink, is described as the fragrance that launched the brand and its best-selling scent. Artforum also named it one of its top ten fragrances for 2013.
