Fragrance house
Giorgio
Giorgio Beverly Hills began in 1961, when Fred Hayman and George Grant opened a boutique at 273 Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. After Hayman bought out Grant in 1962, he and his wife, Gale, maintained the business; its yellow-and-white striped frontage became a visual marker of the brand’s Beverly Hills identity and Californian, West Coast lifestyle. Giorgio Beverly Hills launched its first fragrance, Giorgio, in 1981, translating the boutique’s spirit into scent. By July 1994, Giorgio, Red, and Wings ranked among the 15 top-selling fragrances in the United States, establishing fragrance as the brand’s defining commercial identity. The former boutique site was recognized as culturally significant for the role Hayman and the store played in transforming Rodeo Drive into an international upscale fashion and retail destination. Since Revlon completed its acquisition of Elizabeth Arden on September 7, 2016, Giorgio Beverly Hills has been included in Revlon’s portfolio of heritage and designer fragrance brands.
