Fragrance house
Girard
Girard traces its documented history to Girard et Cie Ltd, a British fragrance house based at 182 Regent Street in London and active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Its recorded portfolio includes White Heliotrope and Essence Bouquet in 1870 and Lily of the Valley in 1920, reflecting a floral-oriented fragrance heritage. In 2008, Girard was publicly revived as a British fragrance house, with Boots as the exclusive stockist for the relaunch. The revival combined archived original recipes with three new fragrances; Bouquet d’Orient and Lysval were identified as revived original 1920s creations. Beverley Bayne of CPL Aromas was the revival’s lead perfumer, adapting the original formulations while retaining their original signature.
