Glöd Sophie Elise

Glöd Sophie Elise was founded and launched by Sophie Elise in November 2019 as her own beauty brand. It grew from her search for vegan self-tanning products that addressed skin compatibility, environmental considerations, and the odor associated with self-tan. The brand now spans self-tan, skincare, and makeup, with self-tan remaining its largest category. Glöd is owned by Elle Basic AS and forms part of Jordanes AS. In 2024, Jan, Stig, and key employees assumed full ownership of Jordanes through a management buyout, changing the ultimate ownership structure of the group that contains Glöd. The brand’s self-tan focus has also received formal recognition: Glöd Sophie Elise Self Tan Spray won both Launch of the Year—affordable and Body Care at the 2023 Norwegian Cosmetic Award.
