Grandiflora
Grandiflora was founded by Saskia Havekes in 1995 as a small flower shop in Potts Point, Sydney. Havekes shaped the brand around a sculptural floral aesthetic emphasizing composition, scale and restraint, extending this work into interiors, fashion and editorial projects, as well as four published books between 1999 and 2015. In 2013, Grandiflora expanded into fragrance, launching its first fragrances in Paris. Magnolia is the brand’s defining fragrance subject: Havekes identified Magnolia grandiflora as her favorite flower and the first flower in her fragrance portfolio, while the first two fragrances interpreted magnolia at opening and full bloom. The fragrance work developed through collaborations with Sandrine Videault, Michel Roudnitska, Bertrand Duchaufour and Christophe Laudamiel, with each composition focused on a particular flower or floral experience. Introduced to mark 25 years of Grandiflora, Saskia was composed by Christophe Laudamiel and received the 2022 Art and Olfaction Award for Independent Fragrance.
