Hackett London
Hackett London began in 1983, when Jeremy Hackett opened a second-hand clothing store on King’s Road in Chelsea. As demand for its vintage stock outgrew supply, the business began producing new garments in 1985, combining traditional British styles with modern cuts. Its identity developed around British menswear and the adaptation of Savile Row tailoring into ready-to-wear clothing. In 1987, Hackett sponsored a British Army polo team, and the team shirts became commercial products after customers asked to buy them. The brand expanded internationally with a Madrid branch in 1989 and a Paris shop in 1994, later adding children’s clothing. In 2015, M1 Fashion and L Capital Asia acquired a majority stake in Pepe Jeans Group, which included Hackett; since 2020, the group has operated under the name AWWG, whose current portfolio includes Hackett. Hackett entered fragrance in 2022 with Essential and Bespoke, extending its London-oriented blend of tradition and modernity into scent.
