Heno de Pravia

Heno de Pravia began with Salvador Echeandía Gal’s 1903 conception of a soap inspired by the aroma of freshly cut hay near Pravia, Asturias; Perfumería Gal launched it in 1905. Its original identity centered on that hay-scented soap, expressed through a green bar suggesting fresh hay and yellow wrapping evoking dried hay. Perfumería Gal’s advertising shaped the brand’s early public identity, with work associated with Pedro Prat, Federico Ribas, Alphonse Mucha, and actresses of the period. The brand moved its communication from radio to television, and its 1972 “El aroma de mi hogar” campaign received the Gold Lion at Cannes that year. During the 1980s and 1990s, its design moved beyond its Art Deco-era presentation while retaining a connection to its traditional identity. Heno de Pravia entered Puig’s portfolio through Perfumería Gal after Puig acquired the company in 2001, and it remains listed among Puig’s beauty brands.
