Highland Lilac Fragrance

Created in 1967 by Dan Morgan, a marketer and former horticultural student, Highland Lilac Fragrance is closely tied to Rochester, New York, and the lilac heritage of Highland Park, whose collection was established in 1890. Morgan developed the fragrance with perfumers and research chemists at International Flavors and Fragrances, while Highland Park’s director and staff selected it as an interpretation of Rochester lilac at peak bloom. The brand’s creative identity remains centered on a fresh lilac interpretation and continuity with the original 1967 formula. Its documented family history includes Charles Morgan, identified as Dan Morgan’s son, and Daniel Morgan, the fragrance’s developer. Highland Lilac is especially associated with a single scent, Highland Lilac, launched in 1967. The fragrance was designated the official fragrance of the Lilac Capital of the World and received national awards and international gold medals.
