Hilde Soliani
Hilde Soliani established the perfume line bearing her name after turning her focus to fragrance in 2006. A theatrical performer, painter, jewellery designer, and perfumer, she built the brand around an olfactory theatre in Parma, treating perfumes as individual works of art. Her method draws on personal memory and emotion: each creation recalls a feeling, moment, or memory, with fragrances connected to food, theatre, atmosphere, and sensory storytelling. The brand’s development includes the culinary-inspired Gusto e Profumo in libertà line, launched in 2008, followed by the Senshilde range in 2014, which included fragrances dedicated to chef friends. Soliani’s fragrance background also reaches into her family history; she learned garden-fragrance extraction through enfleurage from her maternal grandmother, Marcella, who sold perfumes locally in the 1950s. Buonissimo is the scent for which Soliani is best known, recalling fresh brioche and Italian espresso. Stecca, launched in 2007 within Teatro Olfattivo, reflects the same food-and-theatre direction through the smell of tomato leaves and the tradition of throwing tomatoes at a poor performance.
