Hildegard Braukmann
Hildegard Braukmann founded the company in 1962 in Großburgwedel, Germany, together with her future husband, Albert Wittenberg. Trained as a cosmetician, she experimented with active ingredients and herbs before resuming her trade in Uslar in 1945 and later becoming chief cosmetician at Inka. The company was founded around an herbal-cosmetics philosophy emphasizing natural, effective and uncomplicated care, with herbs as a central identity element. Braukmann led the business until 1990, when she transferred it to the Strenger family, which continues the business as a family-owned company. Later product development combined the nature-and-herb orientation with research involving dermatologists and the development of new formulations. In 2019, a brand repositioning introduced the core “Berührend echt” and refreshed the visual identity to make the established values and herbal-cosmetics heritage more visible.
