Histoires de Parfums

Histoires de Parfums is a Parisian fragrance house founded by Gérald Ghislain in 2000. After beginning his career in gastronomy, Ghislain trained at ISIPCA and operated two Paris restaurants before creating the brand. Histoires de Parfums conceived perfume as an “olfactive library,” using figures, mythical years, poems, music, and literary or cultural themes to tell stories. Its original 2000 launch comprised twelve creations that revisited classic olfactive families through historical figures identified by their birth dates. Ghislain’s perfumes convey emotion through stories. The Classic Collection groups the house’s founding fragrances, while the Timeless Classics collection contains fragrances described as references in their respective categories. Ambre 114, a spicy-oriental amber, is included in both collections and is one of the house’s retained classic fragrances. In 2022, Ghislain launched Olibanum, a related project focused on simpler and more restrained perfumery, while Histoires de Parfums continued its story-based approach.
