Fragrance house
Historiae
Historiae is a French fragrance house founded in 2012 by Pascale Oger, whose concept is to express French history through scent. The project grew from Oger’s earlier work in cosmetics, including at L’Oréal, and from the 1999 acquisition by Oger and her husband of the 17th-century Fauconnerie du Roy in Montainville; visits to perfume institutions at Versailles also helped inspire the brand. Its creative identity joins historical storytelling with French cultural heritage, evoking places, periods, and figures associated with France, from Versailles to the imperial era. The house’s fragrances were developed with major collaborator Bertrand Duchaufour, alongside work by Constant Michaux and designer Alnoor. Rather than resting on one documented signature scent, Historiae is represented by a historically themed collection: Rose de France evokes the Renaissance, while Orangerie du Roy is associated with Louis XIV and orange blossom. In 2013, the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry recognized its export performance with the Primo exportateur distinction.
