Histories De Parfums

Histoires de Parfums is a Parisian perfume house founded in 2000 by Gérald Ghislain, who had worked as a restaurateur, studied at ISIPCA, and moved from restaurant work to perfumery in 1999. The house began with twelve creations conceived as an olfactory library, revisiting perfume history through emblematic figures and themes including characters, mythical years, poems, and music. Its creative identity is literary and narrative: each fragrance is presented as a book or chapter, while the collection is organized around stories rather than a single conventional house style. Ghislain is the founder and creative director, with a collection shaped by inspiration rather than a stated creative constraint. In 2026, as the house celebrated 25 years, he released SOLD OUT!, part of the This Is Not a Blue Bottle collection; the accompanying interview described it as a clean break and a new era for the creative direction. That collection questions names, visual identity, and perception, drawing on Magritte’s “This is not a pipe” and Yves Klein’s blue. The house’s Timeless Classics grouping includes Ambre 114, an amber-oriented fragrance, and 1969, a gourmand, historically themed entry.
