Horace
Horace was created in November 2016 by Marc Briant-Terlet and Kim Mazzilli after they found that existing men’s grooming brands did not reflect their needs. The founders shaped the brand around simple, effective, natural products and attention to user feedback, while presenting an inclusive identity intended to reflect men with different appearances, skin tones, body types, and grooming styles. Its first two own-brand products launched on 14 November 2016, marking the start of Horace’s own-name product activity. In April 2019, the company reorganized its capital as early backers, including Bpifrance, Kima Ventures, and several business angels, relinquished their positions and a new investor with international consumer-goods experience entered. Horace became B Corp certified in 2025, formalizing commitments around transparency, diversity, suppliers, and continuous product improvement. In fragrance, & Horace was the brand’s first eau de parfum, followed by Oud Rose on 9 October 2024, its second fragrance, built around rose with woody and oud elements.
