Humiecki & Graef

Humiecki & Graef launched in 2008 as a Cologne-based perfume label founded by product designers Sebastian Fischenich and Tobias Müksch. Its name honors their grandmothers, Helena Humiecka and Katharina Graef, and the house presents its fragrances as tributes to memory. The founders’ design background shaped an emotion-led method: Fischenich selects an emotion, develops a visual concept, and uses it to guide the perfumers, packaging, photography, and naming. The resulting artistic perfumery explores human states such as melancholy, fury, elation, pride, and contentment through unconventional concepts. Christophe Laudamiel and Christoph Hornetz, working as Les Christophs, were principal perfumers in the brand’s early fragrance development. The house launched with five fragrances in 2008 and had seven perfumes by 2010. That year, Bosque was introduced as its seventh fragrance, conceived around contentment, satisfaction, relaxation, and quiet sensuality.
