Hummer

HUMMER began in 1992, when AM General introduced a civilian vehicle brand rooted in its military-vehicle heritage. Defined by rugged four-wheel drive and an outdoorsy, off-road image, it translated that military-derived concept into a civilian lifestyle brand. General Motors acquired the brand in 1999, and the original HUMMER business was wound down in 2010. The marque entered fragrance in 2004; the original Hummer Eau de Toilette reached the top 20 bestselling men’s fragrances shortly after its fall release, according to NPD Beauty data reported at the time. In 2020, General Motors revived the name under GMC for an all-electric vehicle, with customer deliveries beginning in December 2021.
