Iceberg
Based in San Giovanni in Marignano near Rimini, Italy, Iceberg was launched in 1974 by Giuliana Marchini and Silvano Gerani through their Gilmar company as a sportswear-oriented fashion brand. Designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac shaped its early identity during about thirteen years of creative leadership, establishing modular forms, mixed materials, knitwear, cartoon characters, and pop motifs. Iceberg’s creative language combines sportswear, knitwear, art, and pop-cultural imagery, with campaigns by Oliviero Toscani, Steven Meisel, and David LaChapelle. In 2024, the brand marked its 50th anniversary with the book ICEBERG 1974-2024 Rewind-Fast Forward, which documents its evolution by decade. The fashion brand remains associated with Gilmar, while by 2025 Give Back Beauty held Iceberg’s beauty license. Its fragrance history includes the women’s Iceberg fragrance, launched in 1989, and a men’s companion launched in 1991; Iceberg Homme is presented as a sportswear-DNA reinterpretation of Original Classic Homme by perfumer Pierre Guéros.
