Idman

Idman was introduced in the United Arab Emirates in 2025, with its first fragrance collection launching in April. Founded by Joelle Sakkal, the brand began as her diploma project while she studied fashion at London’s University of the Arts; she also researched perfumery in Grasse, France. Its creative identity treats scent as emotional communication and self-expression, framed by the tension between creation and chaos. Sakkal connects that outlook to her Syrian roots, the Damascene rose, and a multicultural upbringing across Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Dubai, and London. The launch collection was presented as unisex and used several formats, including extrait de parfum, eau de parfum all-over sprays, and perfume balm; perfumer Shadi Samra created its compositions. Bermuda Waters exemplifies Idman’s memory-led approach, drawing on Sakkal’s childhood memory of her father’s cigar and their conversations. Idman’s later Naked Thorn extrait interprets the Damascene rose through its stem and thorn rather than the flower.
