Fragrance house

Inis

Inis grew from Fragrances of Ireland, a family enterprise founded in 1983 by Brian Cox and Donald Pratt to create perfumes reflecting Ireland. After developing its first perfume, Innisfree, the company created other Irish-themed lines before turning toward Inis as a fragrance house in its own right. Inspired by Dog’s Bay on Ireland’s Atlantic coast, the Inis fragrance concept was developed with perfumer Arthur Burnham in 1997 and launched in 1998. The brand’s identity remains closely tied to the Atlantic coast, the sea, and the feeling of a summer day by the water; “Inis” is the Irish word for island. An Irish, family-owned independent boutique perfumery operated by Fragrances of Ireland, Inis has supported the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group since 2001. Inis the Energy of the Sea is its signature collection, extending beyond the original fragrance into personal-care and home-care products. Inis is also Fragrances of Ireland’s flagship scent and remains its best-selling fragrance.
