Instituto Español

Founded in 1903, Instituto Español began as a makeup and perfumery company and has produced perfumery and cosmetic products since the start of its activity. The Granados family entered ownership in 1982, when Vicente Granados’s grandfather bought the company at public auction; in 1986, the family moved it from Seville to Hinojos, in Huelva. Represented by its third family generation, the company has developed around perfumery and personal care and wellbeing, with an Andalusian identity focused on evolution and adaptation to new times and trends. Its fragrance history includes Gotas de Oro, which began in 1903 as a concentrated eau de cologne and is one of Instituto Español’s foundational pillars after more than a century. In 2018, Aire de Sevilla and Poseidon were identified as its two most popular fragrances.
