Irma Shorell

Irma Shorell was commercially established in 1961 by Irma Shorell, building on skin-care formulations developed in the 1940s by her father, plastic surgeon Dr. I. Daniel Shorell. The brand is centered on skin beauty and has a multigenerational identity extending from mother to daughter to granddaughter. Ownership changed materially in 1985, when Irma Shorell, H. Allen Lightman, and companies they controlled sold the trademark, business assets, and goodwill to Alfin Fragrances; in 1987, Francis S. Denney, Inc. acquired the trademark and product-line rights from Alfin. By 2013, fragrance executive Jeffrey Dame was identified as the owner of Irma Shorell, Inc. The brand’s fragrance history includes the Long Lost Perfume collection, introduced in 1999 to recreate older discontinued fragrances, including Casaque and Ecusson. Casaque became part of the portfolio under Jeffrey Dame, while Ecusson originated as a Jean d’Albret fragrance and was produced in the collection from 1995.
