Isaac Mizrahi
Isaac Mizrahi launched his eponymous label in 1987, building an American fashion identity around classic, clean silhouettes, vivid color, and exuberant execution. The label earned four CFDA awards, including Womenswear Designer of the Year, while Mizrahi’s work shaped its creative identity. His 1994 collection was documented in Unzipped, which won the 1995 Sundance Audience Award and became a lasting part of his public creative profile. After the original fashion house closed in 1998, Mizrahi extended his work into theater and dance costume and set design, winning a 2002 Drama Desk Award for costume design. A 2003 collaboration with Target brought his design work into accessible fashion. In 2016, the Jewish Museum in New York presented Isaac Mizrahi: An Unruly History, a retrospective spanning his fashion, costume, and related creative work. WHP Global currently includes Isaac Mizrahi New York in its brand portfolio.
