Fragrance house
Isabelle Lancray
Isabelle Lancray traces its beginnings to 1945, when former journalist Rosine Gacier established a cosmetics manufacturing line in Courbevoie and became known as Madame Isabelle Lancray. Associated with professional skincare in postwar Paris, she opened her first Paris beauty salon in 1953, where she organized training and management courses for beauticians. From 1962, she chaired France’s National Association of Beauty Salons, and in 1968 she founded the Fédération Française d’Esthétique Cosmétique. That same year, Laboratoires Roger Bellon bought the Isabelle Lancray cosmetics business. Dr. Rimpler took over its distribution in 1986 and bought the traditional brand in 1997. Madame Isabelle Lancray died in Paris on 12 April 1989. The brand’s public identity is now centered on professional skincare linked to her French heritage and salon-based beauty care.
