Fragrance house
Izod
Izod launched in 1938 with a men’s line that included traditional cotton piqué knit polo shirts and fragrances. Its public identity was shaped by a U.S. licensing relationship with Lacoste: the Lacoste shirt reached American consumers through Izod, and the combined Izod Lacoste label became associated with American preppy style during the 1970s and 1980s. The partnership ended in 1993, after which Izod abandoned the crocodile branding. Phillips-Van Heusen added the brand to its portfolio in 1995. On August 2, 2021, Authentic Brands Group finalized its acquisition of Izod and other PVH Heritage Brands, assuming licensing partnerships and marketing initiatives, while Centric Brands received the license for Izod men’s sportswear. The brand’s current structure includes dedicated Advantage and Golf lines, alongside its established polo-focused identity.
