Fragrance house
Jacques Bogart
Jacques Bogart was created in 1975 by Jacques and Régine Konckier, and its first fragrance was distributed through selective perfumeries that same year. Since its creation, the brand has centered on an exclusively masculine fragrance universe. One Man Show, introduced in 1981 as its second fragrance, became an early milestone in the collection. The wider Bogart business also took on licensed and acquired fragrance brands, including Ted Lapidus and Chevignon, and in 1986 acquired Balenciaga Couture and Perfumes before selling Balenciaga in 2001. Today, Parfums Jacques Bogart SAS commercializes the Jacques Bogart and Chevignon fragrance lines as a wholly owned subsidiary of Bogart SA; the wider Bogart group is a French family group held by David Konckier. The debut fragrance, Bogart Signature, circulated in the USSR and Russia, where that circulation was identified as a key factor in its popularity, and it remained in production decades later.
