Fragrance house
Jardins d'Écrivains
Founded by Anaïs Biguine in 2012, Jardins d’Écrivains began with George, its first perfume, after her visit to Victor Hugo’s Hauteville House in Guernsey. Biguine first created scented candles inspired by writers’ living spaces, then extended that literary premise into perfumes interpreting writers, fictional characters, and the settings associated with their lives and work. Identified as the brand’s founder, owner, and perfumer, she approaches fragrance creation as a narrative and investigative process focused on understanding a literary character’s inner mechanism. The house presents perfumes alongside home sprays, diffusers, and candles inspired by writers’ houses and literary settings, moving across historical periods and literary subjects rather than following fragrance trends. Inspired by George Sand, George is described by the official brand as an intense olfactory signature.
