Jardins de France
Jardins de France was founded in 1920 in Amboise, in France’s Loire Valley, by Monsieur Bonneau, a trained formulator. Originally named “Parfumerie du Jardin de la France” after the region’s château gardens, the house began with eaux de Cologne, plant lotions, and flower essences. In 1936, Bonneau partnered with Marcel Gozard, and production moved to Yzeure in the Allier. From the 1970s, the business broadened its Cologne heritage with eaux de toilette and later eaux de parfum. The manufacture changed hands in 1996, when Nicolas Gozard and Bertrand Sonnier took it over; Sonnier relocated the perfume business to Bourbon-Lancy in 2000, establishing its Burgundy base. In 2024, Vincent Gaggero became head of the manufacture, with a stated new direction that continued Sonnier’s work. The house’s identity joins traditional French eau de Cologne with newer collections and in-house olfactory creation. Its Cologne heritage is represented by the vintage 1920 collection, whose Âme de Thé Vert green-tea Cologne was identified as a bestseller. For its centenary, the house also created Cologne 1920, a seven-fragrance collection with contemporary Art Deco presentation.
