Jean-Marc Sinan
Jean-Marc Sinan is a French artist, architect, and former fashion designer. After leaving Christian Dior in 1980, he opened a couture house in Paris, and his first fashion show took place in Monte Carlo in 1981. Between 1981 and 1990, he developed a holding company in his own name that included a perfume brand; its first fragrances launched in 1984. A 1985 contemporary account described his Paris fashion house and a recently introduced perfume bearing his name. In 1990, Sinan ended his couture activity and bought back the perfume inventory he could reach worldwide, after which it was destroyed in Chartres. His fragrance legacy includes Sinan, composed in 1980 and introduced in 1981 as his first women’s fragrance. It is described as a green, spicy rose chypre and as the scent for which he is best known. After the break with couture and perfumery, his public creative work shifted toward sculpture and painting; in 2026, he presented oil paintings made between 1995 and 2025 under the title “Al Ilahiyyat.”
