Jean Naté
Jean Naté originated in 1935 as a product line introduced by Charles of the Ritz. Its parent business traces to Charles Jundt, who took over the Ritz-Carlton hotel salon in New York in 1919 and marketed cosmetics under the Charles of the Ritz name from 1926. Yves Saint Laurent acquired Charles of the Ritz and Jean Naté in 1986, then sold Jean Naté to Revlon in 1987 as part of a broader fragrance-brand transaction. Revlon later identified Jean Naté among its consumer fragrance brands, and Revlon Consumer Products Corporation is listed as the trademark’s current owner. The Jean Naté line is associated with its after-bath and body-splash format, a bright, citrus-like scent, and widespread mass-market use in the 1970s. Revlon discontinued the line in 2016, although the Jean Naté mark remains registered and renewed.
