Jennifer Lopez JLo

Jennifer Lopez JLo emerged from Jennifer Lopez’s fragrance venture in 2002. On March 15, 2002, Coty, through its Lancaster division, entered an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement with Lopez’s company, Sweetface Fashion Co., LLC, to develop and market fragrances and cosmetics under the J.Lo name. Glow by J.Lo launched that June, with its first products shipping on June 28. The brand’s identity connected the fragrance to Lopez as performer, mother, and public figure, while the original Glow packaging and campaign created a visual link between Lopez and the fragrance. A 2003 trademark dispute with Glow Industries ended in a settlement under which Lopez continued to own and use the Glow by J.Lo mark. Glow is the defining fragrance associated with the brand: it sold rapidly, broke numerous perfume sales records within six months, and helped inspire later celebrity-fragrance launches. By 2012, Glow continued as the central fragrance identity of the J.Lo brand.
